Windy “Bridge To Nowhere”

We went to “The Bridge To Nowhere” this week. An isolated road bridge over the San Gabriel River in Azusa, Southern California. It was built in 1936. It was meant to be part of a road connecting the San Gabriel Valley with Wrightwood.

It was an extremely windy day, we almost left it for another day and just go back home.

However, we continued despite the weather, and it was a very exciting adventure!

There is a very nice trail there

We actually took more challenging paths than the designated, and climbed up and down a few hills.

We saw some big horn sheep. They certainly didn’t have any concerns going up and down in the steep landscape!

There are lots of river crossings in this trail.

After a long and exciting hike we reached “The Bridge To Nowhere”, which takes you exactly there: nowhere. It ends up against the mountains.

Hiking in Poopout and Mystic Canyon Trail

Poopout and Mystic Canyon, two consecutive trails in the Big Dalton Canyon area. One starts where the other finishes. They both have an extremely steep incline! There is also an easy but longer option, but we went the hard way, faster and more challenging. Not sure what is harder, going up or going down… It certainly was faster going down!

Enjoy this beautiful view…

Sometimes I felt like Spiderman, climbing more than hiking!

Mt Baldy Hike with Snow and Jeet Kune Do

Snowing Mt Baldy hike on Nov 28th, Thanksgiving weekend

Chi Sao on the high wall: this is a sensitivity or energy drill

Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do modify trapping drill: Pak Sao from outside high reference point with water flowing beneath us at the base of San Antonio Falls

If you go, remember to stop in the “San Antonio Ski Hut” in your way to the top. It will be a very comforting rest!

Barefoot Hike @ East Fork of San Gabriel Valley river

Early morning, kind of cold, but so beautiful and calm. Hike begins…

Got hot sooner than I thought!

After crossing the stream again and again… I decided that is better taking the shoes off!

So nice, refreshing, and… sort of… comfortable?

To follow the trail was… ok. Getting wild and walk inside the creek upstream was so much better! This is like the jungle )) YAYYYY!!!!

And here… well, just having a blast! LOL! Victoria the wild beast attacking! YAYYY!

WHAT???? No! No! NO!!!!! I am not getting back to the trail! Loving the stream.

Ok, ok… let’s follow the path! Good kitty

Rocks are kind of nice to walk on… their temperature is cooler than the floor, and feet adapt to their shape.

The floor is full of small sharp stones, so it feels like walking carefully, but it is SO HOT! Better to run!!!!! Sharp don’t matter! Ouch! HOT HOT HOT!!!!!

Aaaah… This is SO MUCH BETTER… I told you! I am not going out of the stream!

Ooh… slippery rocks in the stream… but still fun and refreshing!!!!! And even more fun… mmm… we are out of drinking water, and it is – REALLY – HOT – ! Oh no!!!!!
